In History In History of Invisible Histories, the works bring forward what dominant archives render unseen—stories systematically erased from historical discourse, intentionally regardless of their racial, national, or gendered identity, avoiding the Western exotic gaze of a mono-historical case. Through transparent textiles, and acts of repair, they interrogate the hierarchical structures that determine which lives become seen and which are excluded. Mending stitches and translucent surfaces operate as critical gestures: they expose the infrastructures of political erasure, while insisting on the agency of those who resisted them. By activating what moves between visibility and opacity, History of Invisible Histories reframes repair as a structural intervention rather than a restorative gesture. The work refuses the linearity of canonical historiography, proposing instead a counter-archive grounded in material opacity and embodied memory. It invites viewers to confront the architectures of forgetting, asking how histories suppressed by gendered and colonial power can re-enter collective consciousness—not as recovered fragments, but as essential components of a radically reconfigured historical imagination.
